A little H1 Math. One clear idea.

Same score.
Two different
questions.

Start with two baskets in four throws. Then shoot again to see how the answers change.

Same score. Different wording.
See both answers side by side.

A tutor can break a question into small steps like this. In a one-to-one lesson, you have time to ask why and work through the idea at your pace.

Bring us your sticking point

Four throws at a basket.

Two questions about the same score.

Tap a throw below to shoot at the hoop.

You scored 2 baskets in four throws.

“Did you score
at least once?”

One or more baskets

✓ Yes

You scored 2 baskets. That’s at least one.

“Did you score
exactly once?”

One basket, and no more

× No

You scored 2 baskets, rather than just one.

“At least one” allows more baskets.
“Exactly one” allows only one.

Tap a throw. Each shot may go in or miss.

Explore the maths (optional)

Now ask a different question: how likely is each result? Imagine every throw has the same chance of going in, and one throw doesn’t affect the next.

10%90%

At least one basket87.04%

Exactly one basket34.56%

“At least one” includes scoring 1, 2, 3 or 4 baskets. “Exactly one” includes only scoring 1.

At least one: 1 − (1 − 0.4)4
Exactly one: 4 × 0.4 × (1 − 0.4)3

One student. One tutor. Your starting point.

Where do you
want to start?

Your lesson doesn’t have to follow someone else’s pace. Choose what sounds like you.

Make the first step less of a mystery.

Revisit a concept, ask the questions you held back and work through a method at your pace.

Before you enquire

Good questions.
Clear answers.

A few details to help you take the next step.

How much does private H1 Math tuition cost?

Private H1 Math tuition starts from S$85 per hour (SGD). Your exact fee depends on the tutor and agreed lesson arrangements. We confirm the hourly rate and lesson duration before booking. Trial lessons are paid.

Who will be my H1 Math tutor?

Our team checks for a suitable private tutor based on your JC year, learning needs and preferred times. We discuss the tutor and hourly fee with you before arranging a lesson. Tutor allocation is subject to availability.

How do I arrange a first lesson?

Complete the paid trial lesson form below. Select JC1 or JC2 and your preferred centre or online lessons. Share your learning goals and preferred schedule in the optional message. Our team follows up on WhatsApp to confirm tutor availability, lesson duration and the exact fee before arranging your paid one-to-one trial. Bring a school tutorial, recent test or question you want to work on.

Can I get help if I did not take O-Level A Math?

Yes, you can request support with foundations. SEAB describes H1 Mathematics as particularly appropriate for students without O-Level Additional Mathematics. Tell us which algebra or calculus concepts you find difficult so we can discuss suitable one-to-one help.

Is this for JC1 or JC2 students?

Both. JC1 students can work on foundations and current school topics. JC2 students can revisit gaps and focus on exam preparation. Lessons are individual, so share your school progress and learning goals when you enquire.

Can I choose my lesson time and learn online?

Tell us your preferred days, time windows and centre, or choose live online private tuition. Lessons are arranged individually, subject to tutor availability. You can request Jurong East, Bukit Timah or Tampines; our team will confirm the tutor, venue and schedule with you.

Which H1 Math topics can I work on?

H1 Mathematics (8865) covers functions and graphs, equations and inequalities, differentiation and integration, probability, binomial and normal distributions, sampling, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression. Share the topics you want to focus on. Lessons follow your needs and school progress.

What resources and support should I expect?

Discuss the notes, worksheets, practice questions and support between sessions with your tutor when arranging lessons. Bring your own school work and attempted solutions so your tutor can focus on the steps you find difficult.
