Terms & Conditions for 1-to-1 Lessons

Terms & Conditions for 1-to-1 Lessons

Use of Our Platform

  • Tim Gan Math Learning Centre uses its web application as the main platform for managing 1-to-1 tuition lessons, including scheduling, lesson records, lesson credits, invoices, payment status, and parent/student account information.

  • Parents, guardians, and students are responsible for keeping their account information accurate and checking the platform for lesson credit balance, payment status, scheduled lessons, and notices from the centre.

  • By enrolling in 1-to-1 tuition lessons, you agree that the platform records maintained by Tim Gan Math Learning Centre will be used as the reference for lesson credits, lesson attendance, payment status, and outstanding amounts.

Lesson Credits and Prepayment

  • All 1-to-1 tuition lessons operate on a prepaid lesson credit basis.

  • Lesson credits must be purchased and successfully reflected in the student's account before lessons are conducted.

  • A scheduled lesson will only proceed if the student has sufficient available lesson credits before the lesson starts.

  • If there are no credits or insufficient credits in the student's account, Tim Gan Math Learning Centre and/or the assigned tutor may pause, postpone, or cancel the lesson. The tutor is not required to conduct a lesson when sufficient credits are not available.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for topping up credits in advance. Making payment shortly before a lesson does not guarantee that the lesson can proceed if the payment has not been confirmed or reflected in the system.

Online Payments

  • Payments may be made through the payment methods made available by Tim Gan Math Learning Centre, including PayNow, credit card, or other supported online payment methods shown on the platform.

  • A payment is considered completed only when it has been successfully received, verified, and reflected in the student's lesson credit balance.

  • For PayNow payments, parents/guardians may be required to submit the correct payment reference or proof of payment. Credits may only be added after the payment has been matched and verified.

  • For credit card payments, payment is subject to approval by the relevant payment processor, card issuer, or bank. Failed, reversed, disputed, or chargeback transactions may result in lesson credits being withheld, removed, or suspended.

  • Any bank charges, card fees, foreign transaction fees, or payment processing charges imposed by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider are your responsibility unless otherwise stated by Tim Gan Math Learning Centre.

No Credits, No Lesson

  • It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to ensure that the student has sufficient lesson credits before each scheduled 1-to-1 lesson.

  • If the account has no credits or insufficient credits, the lesson will not be conducted unless Tim Gan Math Learning Centre gives written approval as an exception.

  • If a lesson is paused, postponed, or cancelled due to insufficient credits, Tim Gan Math Learning Centre is not responsible for reserving the same tutor, date, time, or lesson slot.

  • Repeated failure to maintain sufficient credits may result in suspension or termination of 1-to-1 lesson arrangements.

Lesson Scheduling

  • Lessons are arranged directly between the tutor and student/parent, allowing flexibility where possible.

  • All lesson timings are subject to tutor availability and confirmation by Tim Gan Math Learning Centre.

  • Any changes to lesson timing must be mutually agreed upon in advance.

  • Tim Gan Math Learning Centre may update the lesson schedule, tutor assignment, or platform records where necessary for operational reasons.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for all cancellations or requests to reschedule.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson will be charged in full and the relevant lesson credit may be deducted.

  • For urgent or unforeseen situations such as illness, supporting documents such as a medical certificate may be requested for fee waiver consideration.

  • Rescheduling is subject to tutor availability and may not always be possible within the same week.

  • If Tim Gan Math Learning Centre or the assigned tutor cancels or reschedules a lesson, the lesson credit will not be deducted, or will be restored where applicable.

Credit Validity, Refunds, and Adjustments

  • Unused prepaid lesson credits are non-refundable unless special approval is granted by Tim Gan Math Learning Centre.

  • Tim Gan Math Learning Centre may correct, adjust, add, remove, or reinstate lesson credits where there has been an administrative error, payment error, failed transaction, duplicate payment, disputed payment, or incorrect lesson record.

  • Lesson credits are not transferable to another student or family account unless approved by Tim Gan Math Learning Centre.

Termination or Suspension of Lessons

  • Tim Gan Math Learning Centre may suspend, discontinue, or terminate 1-to-1 lessons if a student or parent/guardian frequently cancels, reschedules, fails to maintain sufficient credits, fails to make payment, or breaches these Terms and Conditions.

  • This policy ensures fairness to tutors, protects reserved lesson slots, and maintains continuity in the student's learning experience.

General Provisions

  • By enrolling in 1-to-1 lessons, the student and/or parent/guardian agrees to abide by all terms stated above.

  • Tim Gan Math Learning Centre reserves the right to update or revise these Terms and Conditions when necessary. Updated terms may be communicated through the platform, email, WhatsApp, or other official communication channels.

  • Continued booking, attendance, or use of 1-to-1 tuition lessons after updated terms are communicated will constitute acceptance of the updated terms.
