Meet the tutors teaching this year’s HeadStart. Each one is vetted by Mr Gan and teaches from the curriculum he designs. Four of them started as TGM students.
A short course, taken before the new school year starts, that teaches topics from the next level. Every TGM HeadStart lesson covers one next-year topic, and classes run from late October to the end of November. Book one lesson or as many as you like.
When do the 2026 HeadStart classes run?+
Sec 2 and Sec 3 HeadStart classes run weekly from 26 October to 22 November, and IP1 to IP3 every Saturday from 31 October to 28 November, at their usual time. JC1 → JC2 runs 20 October to 14 November in Mr Gan’s five weekly classes. P6 → Sec 1, Sec 2 → Sec 3 A Math and IP4 → JC1 run 23 to 30 November: P6 → Sec 1 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, the other two from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Choose a class above to see every date.
How much does HeadStart cost? Can we book just one lesson?+
Yes — every lesson is sold on its own, at our normal per-lesson rate: P6 → Sec 1 and Sec 2 E Math $75; Sec 3 E Math $80; Sec 3 A Math, Sec 2 → Sec 3 A Math, IP1 and IP2 $85; IP3 $90; IP4 → JC1 $100; JC1 → JC2 $110. All prices are in SGD. Book one lesson, a few, or the whole block.
How do the 2 free Term 1 lessons work?+
Book 2 or more HeadStart lessons, then enrol your child in any Live Tuition Class for the full Term 1 2027. We take two lessons off your term fees. The lessons can be in different weekly classes, and can be booked in one go or separately.
Where are classes held? Can my child attend online?+
Every class is in-centre or livestream, at the same price. P6 → Sec 1, Sec 2 → Sec 3 A Math and IP4 → JC1 are at King’s Arcade, 559 Bukit Timah Road, five minutes from Tan Kah Kee MRT. The other classes run at King’s Arcade, Jurong East and Tampines — each date shows its branch. JC1 → JC2 is by livestream for new students; in-centre seats are on request.
My child’s school teaches topics in a different order. Will this help?+
Schools may teach topics in a different sequence. HeadStart introduces foundational ideas used at the next level, rather than promising to match every school’s first chapter. Check the topics listed beside each lesson, or WhatsApp us about your child’s school and current level.
Does HeadStart include the free H2 Math Summary Book?+
Yes, for students new to TGM on the two H2 Math programmes. Every paid JC1 → JC2 or IP4 → JC1 booking, even a single lesson, includes one complimentary copy of H2 Mathematics Essentials (U.P. $24.90) — 150 pages of summary notes, worked examples and QR-linked video explanations. We post it free within Singapore after payment, while stocks last. Current TGM students already have the book.
What topics are covered?+
P6 → Sec 1 covers Primes, HCF & LCM, then Basic Algebra. Sec 2 → Sec 3 A Math covers Quadratic Functions, then Quadratic Equations. IP4 → JC1 covers Inequalities of Rational Functions, then Modulus Functions. JC1 → JC2 covers Recurrence Relations and Complex Numbers I–III (the Wednesday class starts with Maclaurin Series I). Every other class covers a different next-year topic each week, so each lesson stands on its own.
Is HeadStart only for existing TGM students?+
No. HeadStart is open to new and current TGM students at the same per-lesson price. You don’t need to sign up for regular tuition to attend.
Should Sec 4 students wait for O-Level results?+
For students taking O-Levels, our planned January 2027 JC1 run is a better fit: it is intended to take place after results, when the next step is clearer. The November JC1 programme is mainly for IP4 students progressing directly to JC. Join the January interest list above and we will contact you when dates are confirmed.
Will my child get time to ask questions?+
Yes. Every two-hour lesson has time set aside for questions, in-centre or on the livestream.
Are lessons recorded? What materials are included?+
Every booked lesson is recorded in TGM Study Hub, and worksheets are included: printed for in-centre students, and as a PDF in TGM Study Hub for livestream students once registration is complete. Students new to TGM also get TGM Study Hub and the Question Bank — 9,000+ questions, every one with a full video solution and handwritten worked notes — until 31 January 2027, and it continues if they enrol.
What if my child misses a lesson?+
Every booked lesson is recorded in TGM Study Hub, so your child can watch it and catch up at home. The worksheet is there too. If you know in advance, WhatsApp us at 8748 8161.
What if none of the dates or times suit us?+
Choose “None of these fit?” in the programme list and tell us what would work. We use these requests to plan future classes and will contact you if we can arrange one. There’s no payment or obligation.
